Can I keep the fish to eat it?

We encourage catch and release but if you catch a fish that is legal to keep, you can bring it with you. On Lake Ouimet and Lake Tremblant, it is catch and release only.

Our Mont Tremblant Basic Fly Fishing activity is designed to get you fly fishing with confidence in only a few hours. Our Mont Tremblant Basic Fly Fishing clinics focus on teaching you the fly casting techniques suitable for still-water and river conditions. Our fly fishing tour instructor will take you through the paces of casting, advise you on equipment selection suited to your fishing style, demonstrate essential knots and explain how to make the right fly selection. You will have the opportunity to put it all into practice with actual fly fishing on the Diable River.

Choose our option Fly Fishing – River Wading for Intermediates/Advanced (4h) excursion for more experienced anglers.

Know before you book :

  • 8 years old minimum.
  • Maximum 7 participants.
  • Children 13 yrs and under must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Catch and release only.

  • Know before you go:

  • Please dress appropriately for fishing. Ask if you are unsure or see our What to wear section.

  • Additional information :

  • Our base is 10 minutes from Tremblant resort. We are situated less than a 2-hour drive from Montreal and Ottawa.
  • Duration: Approximately 4 hours (1h30 preparation and practice on land and on the river).
  • Types of fish: Fallfish. Possibility of bass and pike.
  • For guests who choose to reserve in advance (recommended), directions to meeting points will be provided in your reservation by email. Otherwise, directions will be handed to you when you reserve at The Activity Centre.
  • Prices do not include taxes or mandatory resort royalty of 3% and may be subject to change without notice.
